DELEGATION TO POLA CONFERENCE (JAKARTA, INDONESIA)
MR. ADISH AGGARWALA EXHORTED ASIAN BAR PRESIDENTS TO JOINTLY WORK FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE LEGAL FRATERNITY.
Jakatra, August 21 - The All India Bar Association was invited by the Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI) to participate in Presidents of Law Associations in Asia Conference (POLA) held on August 20-21, 2007 at hotel Mulia Senayan, Jakarta. The All India Bar Association was represented by its Chairman, Mr. Adish C. Aggarwala and National Executive member, Mr. Himanshu Munjal. While speaking on the role of lawyers and law associations in harmonizing national legal practices in a globalized world, Mr. Adish C. Aggarwala exhorted the Presidents of Bar Associations and Bar Councils of 13 countries including Japan, Australia, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Korea, Indonesia to jointly work for the betterment of the legal fraternity.
President of International Bar Association, Mr. Ferando Pombo, as an observer in the conference appreciated the role of Bar leaders in Asia for their effective role for enforcement of rule of law. The conference was inaugurated by Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Mr. Andi Mattalatta. The Vice President of Indonesia, Mohd. Jusuf Kalla also invited the Presidents of Bar Associations for a discussion. On being asked by the Vice President of Indonesia, Mr. Aggarwala told him that Indian laws are sufficient to curb terrorism. |
