Delhi’s heavy rainfall on Thursday
morning couldn’t stop students from participating in this year’s elections
of the Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia
Islamia. Vineet Anand has been elected the new Vice-President of Law
Association of Jamia Millia Islamia for
the session 2010-11. He defeated Saajid Hussain and Naghma Siddiqui with a
fairly good margin of votes. Imran Moulaey won the post of General Secretary.
On the other hand, there was a tie for the post of joint secretary between Toufees Ahmed and Kushagra Nigam. There was an overwhelming response from students of
the law department. “I congratulate the newly elected office-bearers and its
glad to know that free and fair elections are being held in various law
institutes” said Neha Gupta, President of All India Law Students Association(AILSA).
